Nathan Arey
MS Student

I am a master’s student co-advised by Dr. Nathan Lord and Dr. Jeff Davis interested in the arthropod pests of industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.).
I graduated from Clemson University in 2020 with a B.S. in biological sciences with an emphasis in entomology. As an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to work at the Clemson University Arthropod Collection for four years as a student curator. I also worked as a field & lab technician for a stream ecology project focusing on aquatic macroinvertebrates and conducted a directed research project in Dr. Michael Caterino’s Arthropod Biodiversity Lab focusing on cryptic diversity of litter-inhabiting micro-Hymenoptera.
I am excited to begin developing an initial pest survey on industrial hemp in Louisiana and to work alongside the great individuals of the Lord Lab.
